Taking the science out of medical librarianship

Hey. I found a great thing!

I found “Letters to a Young Librarian”, written by Allison Aldrich of Ohio State University. She answers the questions all of us have who are interested in medical librarianship.  What if I don’t have a science background.  Her answer?

“If you’ve got it, flaunt it.  If you don’t , that’s totally okay.”

Really what hiring agencies are looking for are librarians and young professionals who are willing to learn and adapt to that particular environment.  You’ve made it this far in your learning process–where can you go from here? That is what your boss wants to know.

Take a read. It’s full of great information, and it gave me some relief in this hectic, chaotic time.
